Organ fat and physical build value

Organ fat, also called Visceral fat, is fat that surrounds the vital organs in the abdominal region. A high percentage of organ fat increases the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease and Type 2 diabetes. A reduction in the percentage of organ fat can stabilise the effect of insulin and consequently reduce the risk of diabetes and related illnesses.

If organ fat is assessed on a scale between 1 and 59, a value greater than 12 means an increased risk to health.

The Physical build value provides the user with the option of defining his/her build. It may be that if activity increases there is no change in a person's weight, but it is highly likely that the ratio of body fat to muscle will change. The overall physique/shape of the user will change accordingly. The physical build value provides the user with precise guidance for his/her diet and fitness programme. It is divided into 9 categories:

Physique rating Characteristics
1 Hidden obesity
2 Obese
3 Solid build
4 Lacking in exercise
5 normal
6 Normal muscular
7 Thin
8 Thin and muscular
9 Very muscular
